The merged club has tasted the ultimate success just once since then, winning the 2000 senior Wimmera Football League premiership.
Despite just one flag win, plenty of talented footballers have displayed their abilities on Central Park in the red and black in those 20 years.

More than 250 players have played senior football for Stawell Warriors since 1999, but the best 22 have been carefully selected in a 'team of the 20 years'.
Ten prominent individuals involved with the club over the last 20 years - ranging from committee members to coaches to sponsors - selected their best team of the last 20 years.
Criteria players were judged on included playing at least two seasons, picked to play in the positions they played in during their career, their service to the club as well as playing achievements.
From the 10 sides entered, 40 players were nominated and presented to the selection committee of current club president Tim Williams, life member and inaugural president John Griffiths and club legend and life member Ian Brilliant to pick the final 22.
"It was a pretty tough job, there were some very unlucky players to miss out," Williams said.
"For us we followed the criteria that was set and came up with what we believe is a very good team. Not everyone will agree with the whole side but that's alright.
"It'd sure be a tough side to beat."
Williams said the idea of the team was to do something different to celebrate the merger.
"We have never done something like this before, it was something we thought would create some interest and get a bit of friendly debate going," he said.
"All the guys who were picked were chuffed and honoured to be in the team."
2000 premiership captain Matt Ilsley was selected to lead the 20-year team, with the coach of that premiership side, Murray Emerson, also picked to coach this team.
"There have been some very good players play for the club over the last 20 years so to be named as captain of this side is an honour," Ilsley said.
"It is a credit to the club how well it has performed over the last 20 years to produce some quality players."
Eight premiership players are in the 20-year team while four current day Warriors in Tom Eckel, Jackson Dark, Cam Kimber and Shane Field also earned selection.
