A SEVERE weather warning has been issued for the Wimmera area for Monday ahead of some cold weather coming in this week.

Western Victoria is looking at a "very strong cold front" according to Bureau of Meteorology's meteorologist, Sarah Scully.
She said the cold front will hit Victoria on Tuesday, June 8.
The cold front includes widespread showers, small hail and isolated thunderstorms.
Windy conditions are also expected up to severe north-westerly winds. A weather warning may be issued for damaging winds for Victoria.

There is a chance of snow in some areas of Victoria.
The cold front will hit on Tuesday, with the northerly winds strengthening ahead of that front hitting.
"A really cold pull of air is expected to be brought up with snow down to 900 metres, which includes parts of Western Victoria like the Grampians for Tuesday," Ms Scully said.
For Stawell, Monday, June 7 is predicted to have a top of 17°C degrees, 70 per cent chance of rain, and winds northerly 20 to 30 km/h increasing to 25 to 35 km/h in the middle of the day then turning northwesterly 20 to 30 km/h in the evening.
On Tuesday, June 8, the forecast is predicted to reach 10°C degrees with a 95 per cent chance of rain, with hopefully 6 to 15mm falling. The is a chance of a thunderstorm in the late morning and afternoon. Possible small hail. Winds northwesterly 15 to 25 km/h tending westerly 15 to 20 km/h during the day then becoming light during the afternoon.
Wednesday, June 9, is forecast with a maximum of 11°C degrees, a 60 per cent with winds southwesterly 25 to 35 km/h.
