Acting Senior Sergeant Simon Grant, the Road Policing manager across the Western Policing Division, said there was two serious incidents on the roads this weekend due to driver distraction.

"One was related to an off-road motorcycle incident.
"The other was a collision at Sheep Hills."

Acting Senior Sergeant Grant said both drivers were issued with infringement notices
"Driver distraction was featured in that collision which is what we were aiming to drive down," he said.
Driver distraction can include using a mobile phone, talking to passengers or what's going on outside the vehicle.
There were 40 speeding offences across Northern Grampians and Horsham out of a total of 58 incidents throughout the long weekend operation.
"We were overall pleased with driver behaviour," Acting Senior Sergeant said.
"One of the drivers behind low vehicle numbers on the road was restrictions from Melbourne preventing people from Greater Melbourne entering the regions.
"We did notice a significant decrease in vehicles compared to other long weekends."
