With warmer conditions in the morning before the rain swept over the Wimmera, players were prepared to play in wet weather, and in the eerily silence of no crowds.

Over at North Park, Stawell, Swifts welcomed Harrow Balmoral in what was tipped to be a middle-order clash of the week.

The Roos got off to a flying start with shooter Kirby Knight proving troublesome for Swifts' defender Erin Freeland.

Knight, paired with Lucy King, managed to pile on a 19 to 11 goal first quarter which put pressure on the Baggies.

Pushing through the steady rain that was coming down, the Roos were impressive in their transition down the court and made the most of each turnover.

Roos went into the main break with a handy 14 point lead, 34-20.

In the third, the Roos' goalies were on fire again, and Swifts made some moves in the attacking end.

Another 15 goal quarter in the third started to squash any hope the Baggies had of a come back.

In the last the home team rallied, and only lost the quarter by three.

Final score 60-35.

Roos' coach Ebonie Salter said the team started strong and after securing the early margin, she was able to try a few different things to try.

"And now, we're running out of time in the season so it was a good opportunity to be able to do that and still keep putting a margin on the scoreboard," she said.

"Kate Vickery played really well in goal keeper. She stopped a lot of opportunities. The Swifts goalies are very accurate - they didn't have as many opportunities to score because of the pressure Kate had in the ring.

"Liv Muldoon had a really strong game in the midcourt. I mixed up midcourt today and I was overall impressed with the way we adapted every quarter."

Coming back after two weeks off, and playing in the rain, Salter said it's been a tough season for everyone and said she was impressed on how the players adapted to conditions.

"We play a free flowing game and of course the rain stops that," she said.

"We're getting a few more tools in our tool kit now and we're able to put them into play on the court.

"We've been working a lot off the court on the mental side of the game including our preparation and our focus and I think that's really started to show today and starting to pay off."

Around the courts, Laharum didn't lose any momentum with the recent suspension of the season.

Up against Kaniva Leeor, the Demons walked away with a comfortable 52-27 goal win over the new comers in the league.

Jeparit-Rainbow made light work of Rupanyup - making the most of the inside conditions.

Trailing at every break, the Panthers rallied in the last and only lost the quarter by a goal and will use that momentum into next week's game.

Jeparit-Rainbow are starting to show they are a real contender come finals time.

Noradjuha-Quantong were too good for Kalkee while Natimuk United ran over the top of Pimpinio.
