OVER six thousand people in Northern Grampians Shire have received at least one jab of a COVID-19 vaccine, according to new data released by the Federal Government.

The latest vaccination data, released by the Federal Health Department, revealed statistics from local government areas across Australia, showcasing the breadth of the vaccine rollout.
The latest data, available here, tracks how many people in each LGA, over the age of 15, have received their first and second doses.
In Northern Grampians Shire 61.4 per cent of eligible residents, roughly 6,173 people, have received at least one dose, with 41.2 per cent (or around 3,974 people) fully vaccinated with both doses.
The data shows Northern Grampians Shire's first dose vaccination rate is similar to that of nearby West Wimmera's 64.6 per cent and Ararat Rural City's 64.3 per cent, while Yarriambiack Shire leads the way with 67 per cent.
Tthis puts other LGAs in the Wimmera and surrounds slightly behind, with Hindmarsh Shire and Horsham Rural City having first dose rates of 60.9 per cent and 61.4 per cent, respectively,
When it comes to fully vaccinated population, Northern Grampians Shire sits on 41.2 per cent with Yarriambiack Shire (41.3 per cent), Horsham Rural City (40.1%) boasting similar numbers.
Ararat Rural City is ahead with 46.1 per cent of eligible residents being fully vaccinated, while Hindmarsh (32.1 per cent) and West Wimmera (30.2 per cent) are lagging behind.
Meanwhile, 71.6 per cent of nearby Buloke Shire's 5,123 eligible residents have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 48.4 per cent are fully vaccinated against the virus.
The Borough of Queenscliffe on the Bellarine Peninsula tops the state, with a whopping 86.9 per cent of its population having received at least one dose, and 64 per cent being full vaccinated against the virus.
However, Queenscliffe has one of the smallest populations in Victoria, with just 2,610 residents.
Overall, 54.3 per cent of Victorians have received their first vaccine doses, while one in three, or 33.3 per cent, are fully vaccinated.
This puts Victoria ahead of Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory.
However, Victoria is just trailing Tasmania, the ACT and New South Wales, with 65.4 per cent of residents in the latter having had their first dose and 35.4 per cent being full vaccinated.
