A man learned an expensive lesson after breaking a window at a Stawell pub during an argument.

Jai Walker, 23, appeared at Stawell Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, where he pleaded guilty to behaving in an offensive manner in public and wilfully damaging property.
The court was told on July 30, 2021, Walker engaged in a verbal argument with a staff member of the National Hotel after he was seen urinating outside on nearby Wakeham Street.
The staff member told Walker he had to leave the venue due to his behaviour.

Following the argument, Walker walked over to the hotel entrance and knocked on a window twice, shattering the glass on the second hit.
He then left the venue heading west down Seaby Street.
Police later confirmed the identity of Walker after acquiring CCTV footage from the owner of the hotel.
Walker was ordered to pay a $500 fine without conviction and an additional restitution amount of $350 for repairs to the window.
