Their car had been doused in white paint in an act of vandalism.
During the night and early morning someone had thrown white paint over the vehicle parked in Grant Street in St Arnaud.
St Arnaud police are now asking the public for help.
The incident occurred between 11pm Tuesday, October 12 night and 4.30am Wednesday, October 13..
Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward who may have information or CCTV in relation to the matter.
