The players were bubbling with excitement following an enforced two-week layoff, as round five of the Stawell Tennis Club Junior Competition saw some titanic struggles, including the first draw of the season.

In the A Grade, Carey Covers and Wombat Earthmovers, both sitting last and second last respectively, fought out an incredible draw, with both teams unable to be separated, locked on 4 sets 35 games each at morning's end. Reanna Stewart was the catalyst in keeping Carey Covers in the match, while Lily Dunn and Ewan Kellas did their best to get Wombat Earthmovers over the line, however both teams had to settle with six points each and remain in the lower half of the ladder. Stawell Goldmine flexed their muscles, comfortably accounting for Stawell Toyota 7 sets 45 games to 1 set 20 games. It was a dominant team performance from Stawell Goldmine, with Archer Reading, Sophie Hutton, Archie Hoffman and Nate Lyons all getting in on the act, while Stawell Toyota skipper, Jack Stevens, won their solitary set.
In the B Grade, Wombat Earthmovers have moved to the top of the ladder, following a hard-fought victory over Carey Covers. Wombat Earthmovers were made to earn the points by the bottom placed Carey Covers, with Teepika Jones getting them off to a flyer. Willow Freeland and Callum Reading combined well to give Carey Covers a glimmer of hope, however Archie McPherson snuffed out any chance of an upset victory, the final score line reading 5 sets 47 games to 5 sets 39 games. Stawell Toyota and Stawell Goldmine played out an old-fashioned thriller, with the former just holding on with a 5 sets 44 games, to 5 sets 40 game triumph. Isabell Read almost singlehandedly dragged her Stawell Toyota team over the line, gaining late support from Riley Norman, while Jack Sullivan and Tora Crawford tried in vain to inspire their Stawell Goldmine teammates.
In C Grade, Wombat Earthmovers reaffirmed their status as the team to chase, remaining unbeaten with a comfortable 7 sets 32 games, to 3 sets 18 games win over Carey Covers. It was Imogen Boisen and Sam Margetson who did the bulk of the damage for Wombat Earthmovers, while Chloe Pearce played a lone hand for Carey Covers, who unfortunately are still searching for that maiden victory. Stawell Toyota got the upper hand late against a spirited Stawell Goldmine outfit, winning 6 sets 29 games, to 4 sets 25 games in a tight tussle. Jack Duxson and Emmy Brunt were the heroes for Stawell Toyota, while Jerome Baker tried valiantly for Stawell Goldmine. Both teams are locked in a battle for second spot on the ladder, with Stawell Goldmine clinging to a 3pt buffer.
