Stawell's Skene Street specialist school is set to benefit after a marathon 24-hour sheep-shearing extravaganza, with the Mifsud trio shearing a total of 2822 beasts between them for charity.

Corey and Brody Mifsud, and their father Roger, went head-to-head in a friendly competition at Warrnambool Showgrounds to raise funds for Skene Street Special School and Merri River School at 12pm on Friday, only finishing on Saturday at 6.30pm.
The trio smashed the previous record of 1542 set by the father-son duo of Corey and Roger set in 2018, with Corey, Roger and newcomer brother Brody shearing 1047, 1041 and 734 sheep respectively.

"We can't thank the community and all the helpers enough, it's unreal," Corey Mifsud said.
"The kids are going to have an awesome education now, thanks to everyone."
Funds raised will go towards purchasing items for two schools, including:
Skene Street Specialist School (Stawell)
- Permanent basketball rings
- Goal posts
- In-ground trampoline
- Sealing of walking/bike track
- Update playground equipment and exercise stations
- Resurfacing and adding turf to the oval
